With the Final Four coming up this weekend, I have been following all the coverage and scouting reports for the four teams. The tournament is great because anything can happen. This year’s tournament was no different. Of the last four teams standing, really only one was expected to be there. You have the team that’s favored to win it all, the team that was never supposed to make it, and a couple teams that were able to pull it out at the end of the season and are riding momentum til the end. So I got to thinking. If the Final Four teams were TV lift cabinets, which cabinet would represent each team?

LOUISVILLE

Louisville is the clear favorite going into this weekend. They are the last remaining number one seed. I liken Louisville to our Concord TV lift cabinet. Concord is a large cabinet and can hold a big TV, up to 65”. If you put Concord in your home, it is going to be the focal point and a stylish one at that. It is one of our most consistently popular units, much like the Cards have been one of the best all-around teams all season long.

SYRACUSE

Everyone is talking about the Syracuse zone defense, how the zone is so long and has such wide range. This is why my pick for the Syracuse TV lift cabinet is Kensington. Kensington is our widest cabinet and as a result one of our largest units. It has a traditional design with plenty of storage.

MICHIGAN

It has been 20 years since Michigan made it to the Final Four but with their rich athletic history, it was only a matter of time before they came back with a bang. Banyan Creek is the Michigan of TV lift cabinets. It is one of our original units and is always a favorite for customers. The traditional design is timeless and it is a mainstay in the TVLiftCabinet.com line up.

WICHITA STATE

Wichita State is the unexpected entry into this year’s Final Four. Where some say they may lack the notoriety or talent that the other teams have, they make up for it with their determination and will to win. This seems to me like Carousel’s simple design but serious popularity with our customers. Carousel fits in with modern or traditional décor so while it may not have all the flash as some other units, it is still tops for quality and its ability to look at home in any room.

Here at TVLiftCabinet.com, we pride ourselves on our variety of different cabinet styles, finishes and sizes. That said, sometimes you might already have a specific design in mind or you may be trying to match your new cabinet exactly to the finish of your existing décor. If this sounds like you, fear not! Custom stains, paint colors and designs are no problem! Recently, we built a custom cabinet for an 80” TV. The cabinet needed to be finished on all four sides, have decorative hardware and a lift that could swivel 360 degrees. This cabinet was completely custom, from the cabinet design right down to the lift mechanism itself. We think it turned out pretty great, what do you think?

Larry and Pat were interested in purchasing our Carousel Brown TV lift cabinet.  However after seeing the stain wood sample in the mail, they discovered the brown stain was not going to work with the rest of their furniture.

I informed Larry that if he gave us a picture of his bed room furniture, we could have our factory get a stain that was within 90% of the exact color of his furniture.  Larry ended up sending me something better than a photo – he mailed me his actual cabinet door.  From there the factory began working on his custom stained cabinet.  The cabinet was completed on time and shipped to Larry and Pat’s home.  Below is Larry’s feedback to us along with home photo.

Exactly as you said, the cabinet electronics pop the TV up and down in automated response to the TV coming on and off by its internal timer we have set.  It all works exactly as planned and looks just great.

We received another home photo!  Chris from Washington, IL was kind enough to share with us his Harbor Green TV lift cabinet home photo.

This beautiful cabinet features according style doors that open up for the TV to be viewed from within cabinet.  The heavy duty rack and pinion TV lift is preinstalled.  The electronic tray which rides directly below the TV is also preinstalled and has plenty of room for three electronics.

We love receiving pictures from our customers showcasing their TV Lift Cabinets at home.  Check out this nice Remington TV Lift Cabinet photo we received last week.

The beautiful Remington Fireplace TV Lift Cabinet blends in seamlessly with this customer’s existing mahogany stained bookcases.  At first glance, you might think this is one large wall unit.  When in actuality the bookcases are separate from our TV lift cabinet.  Quite clever!

Are you a “Do-it-Yourself” person?  Then perhaps building your own TV Lift Cabinet and installing our lift mechanism is the best solution for you.

One of our customers, who purchased our Uplift 3700 Lift mechanism, recently shared his project results with us.   He was able to convert a birch dresser cabinet into his own TV Lift Cabinet.  He removed the dresser drawers and installed a center compartment for his speakers.  In the back of the cabinet he installed our Uplift lift Mechanism directly behind the speaker compartment.  The end result is one impressive home-made TV Lift Cabinet!

This customer did, however, have a question regarding our 12-Volt Trigger feature.

Customer Question:

How does one use the 12-volt power outlet located on the lift mechanism?  I am trying to devise a way to get IR commands into the cabinet to activate a receiver, the lift mechanism and a 42-inch plasma TV.

Our Answer:

To use the 12 volt trigger you will need a 1/8” stereo jack.  Simply apply 12 volts for the lift to move up and remove 12 volts for the lift to move down.

Since you are also trying to activate a receiver and your TV, a better option may be to purchase our infrared relay system. The infrared system has a receiver eye that must be installed in the front of the unit to receive commands from your remote control. You would need to drill a hole in the front of the cabinet and screw in the receiver eye. The rest of the components are installed on the inside of the cabinet. The IR system (receiver eye, hub, power cord and 4 emitters) sells for $200.

Built-In Infrared Relay System

Once you have the IR system installed, you can plug your TV into the “IR Current Sensing” outlet on the lift. When you turn your TV on, the lift will automatically raise. When you turn your TV off, the lift will automatically lower. Please feel free to call or write with any questions.

We know it is hard to purchase furniture online.  Will the scale of the TV lift cabinet fit in well with my living room?  Is the stain going to match my existing furniture?

We hear these valid concerns from our customers quite frequently.  To help our customers determine if the TV lift cabinet will work for their home, we provide our customers with free wood stain samples of our cabinets.  We also provide detailed specification sheets on each of our product pages so that our customers can accurately gage whether the cabinet will fit within the space they had in mind.

But, sometimes even that is not enough to help our customers with their decision.  They need to visually see the final result.  That is where we can step in and go the extra mile.  If our customers send in a picture of their room with room and ceiling dimensions, we can scale the desired TV lift cabinet to the room dimensions and send back the new room photo with cabinet.
