Protect your new flat screen television with a TVLift Cabinet

Many analysts report that the average household in the USA now has three televisions, and this year that number is expected to grow. Some of the growth is attributed to new technology (quantum dot) that makes the colors on an LCD screen bolder and brighter. Others point to dropping prices as advanced technologies move into the mainstream. A story in the Wall Street Journal earlier this year says that companies are finally cracking the code of making your new televisions work better with all the other technologies in your life. Whatever the reason, there are bound to be thousands of new televisions in households this year – and families everywhere looking for the best way to display that new treasure.

One of the smartest things you can do to protect that new television is to display it beautifully in a TV Lift Cabinet. Not only is it the best way to share your new TV with others in your home at the push of a button, it’s the safest way to have a large screen television in your home when you have children and pets who could be in danger when wall-mounted units fail. The TV lift consoles are made from the finest cherry, mahogany, pine, and oak woods and are handcrafted by Amish artisans. All pop up TV lifts come standard with a remote control, allowing you to hide and reveal your television on your terms, keeping it out-of-reach from sticky fingers. One of the most popular units is Carousel. It comes in many different finishes and can be customized for your home décor.  And there are hundreds of other options to truly make your new television shine. Check ‘em out at TVLiftCabinet.com.

What’s trending in home furnishings for 2015?

It’s hard to believe that 2014 is coming to a close.

I had coffee with a good friend yesterday and we started talking about our home projects for next spring. Guess it’s never to soon to dream. Her focus: gardening. My focus: getting my house in order to sell in a couple of years as we prepare to retire someplace that doesn’t EVER get to -30 degrees in the winter.

As I started looking at various interior design websites on the latest design trends, it’s nice to know that my personal style fits right in with the trends for 2015. First up: reinventing classic luxury. What does that mean? Well for me it means using surprising textures, refreshing colors to more modern hues and making sure that the artistic details of furnishings are front and center. I wondered about which TVLiftCabinets would align with some of the new design trends the designers are seeing for 2015.

I checked in with Rob Buehl, CEO of TVLiftCabinet and asked for some ideas to share with readers. He pointed out that for people who prefer a more retro style for their home, the most popular units are the Concord and Dynasty Red.

For home décor stylists with an exotic flair, Dynasty Red is the first on the list. He also noted that another important trend that he’s hearing from his customers: cabinets need to offer versatile functionality. One trend that’s really catching on is choosing a TVLiftCabinet with an electric fireplace. It instantly warms up a room, provides great cabinets for storing items near your television and provides a beautiful way to display your television – whenever you want it. Buehl reminded me that they also custom design a unit to perfectly match someone’s personal style. Good to know.

Sleek Entertainment Center Design on a Budget

Typically, when it comes to furnishing your home and designing a home theater setup, functionality comes first, and then, if the budget allows, design and style comes second. Oftentimes, this will result in a very functional but bland looking entertainment setup. Why would you want to spend a huge chunk of your time sitting in a room that is purely utilitarian?

Many people see a TV lift or TV cabinet as a luxury for the rich. In actuality, a TV lift or TV lift cabinet can be added to your living space at a relatively low cost. Rather than spending your design budget on something purely decorative, you should try and combine  functionality and design to conserve funds. When not in use, a TV lift cabinet still adds flavor to a room and can act as a temporary shelf. The living room or den can quickly convert from being focused around a television (like most living rooms), into being laid out for entertaining. It is amazing what hiding a TV can do for the ambiance of the room during a party or gathering. Once it’s time to put on a movie or share family photos,  the TV is useable again with the click of a button. With hundreds of designs, you can find the one that will fit your style!
