The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced a reminder to all parents that they take extra precautions in their homes to inspect and secure TVs, furniture and appliances. The CPSC estimates that, on average, one child dies every two weeks due to tip-overs.

Between 2000 and 2008, the CPSC received reports that nearly 200 children eight years old and younger died from tip-overs, and 93 percent of those 200 children were five years old and younger.

Astoundingly, 16,000 children five years old and younger were treated between 2000 and 2008 in emergency rooms due to injuries sustained by TV, furniture and appliance tip-overs.

Thankfully, ImportAdvantage’s TV lift cabinets offer the safety and security to prevent accidental tip-overs by keeping TVs and media players tucked away in handcrafted cabinets. The stable, quiet TV lift mechanisms ImportAdvantage uses in its pop-up TV cabinets can hold up to 150-pound flat-screen TVs while also keeping them secured at the base, preventing accidental tipping.
