Pansonic, Samsung, Sony, and XpanD came together to agree upon, making universal 3D glasses that will be compatible with all their 3D TV models.  This is great news for TV Lift Cabinet Owners who have 3D TVs.

Currently, 3D TV owners are faced with a great hurdle.  If they want friends and family to come over to watch a movie or game, they must provide them with glasses.  What 3D TV owner is going to buy more than four pairs of 3D glasses valued at $100 a piece?  It doesn’t make economical sense.  In addition to that, even if their other friends have their own pair of 3D glasses, those glasses are still going to need to be compatible with their TV model.  Talk about a frustration experience - to have such great visual technology and no easy way to share it with friends and family.

This is why 3D TVs sales have not skyrocketed as quickly as the flat panel TV.  Price and convenience dictate the consumer market.  It was evident that something needed to be done.  XpanD took

Several explosions on the surface of the sun could lead to moderate to strong solar storms over the next few days. The resulting disruption of Earth’s magnetic field may affect GPS systems and satellites, perhaps leading to interference with your TV lift cabinet. Due to the solar storms, the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis may be seen from as far south as Minnesota or Wisconsin. Typically, the natural light displays are only visible from locations closer to the arctic.

Although the upcoming storm and resulting disturbance is expected to be minor, severe solar storms have previously had serious affects on Earth’s magnetic field. The largest such storm recorded occurred in September 1859. Telegraph operators described electric shocks and paper catching on fire. An aurora was also seen slightly farther south than even Minnesota or Wisconsin – in the Caribbean. It was reported that a solar storm of this magnitude would result in $2 trillion of damage if it were to happen today. Not to worry,

IcueTV has partnered with Groupon, the retail discount provider, to bring interactive television to TV lift cabinet owners.  Consumers will be able to select Groupon advertisements they like on their TV, enter their phone number, and receive the Groupon deal offer from the TV to their phone via text message.

How does this work?  icueTV provides the technology to support this feature within a set-top cable TV box.  This technology would already come in your new cable box and no additional equipment would be needed.  The technology embedded inside the cable box, allows Groupon advertisements to be displayed on the consumer’s TV.  If the consumer likes a particular Groupon advertisement, the consumer can use their remote to select the “click to text” option and be sent the Groupon discount via text message.  No longer will consumers need to dig thru the newspaper to cut out coupons.  Now they will be able to go paperless.

Joining in on the online movie streaming craze is Walmart, who a little over a year ago bought video-streaming service Vudu.com.  From Walmart.com, customers can buy or rent movies through the Vudu service. Walmart is not offering subscriptions, making it more comparable to iTunes than subscription services like Netflix.

Vudu offers 20,000 titles which can be viewed on PCs and streamed through devices like PlayStation 3. So, what does this mean for TV lift cabinet owners? If your TV has internet access through a gaming device or set top box, you can stream videos to your TV lift cabinet through Walmart’s new service.

In light of Netflix’s PR nightmare and subsequent loss of customers, Walmart has thrown its name into the hat as a potential alternative. Walmart already brings in huge sales numbers for in-store movie sales as one of the nation’s top retailers. It leaves one wondering how the streaming service will affect those numbers. More and more consumers are picking convenience and
