New TV - check !  New TV Lift Cabinet - check!  Now it is time to select your new digital television service provider.

With the introduction of digital television, two main service providers have emerged into the television market and are growing rapidly.  In the last few years, Verizon and AT&T have both expanded their influence by entering into the television market with the new age of digital/HD television. Verizon has launched FiOS and AT&T has launched U-Verse®.   We have done some research on both providers and are now going to share with you are findings.

Services such as Netflix and Hulu are making it easier than ever to access TV shows and movies online. It was only a matter of time until new technology allowed content from your PC to be transferred to your flat panel TV and vice versa. According to an article published on www.pcmag.com, watching content from your PC on the flat panel mounted in your TV lift cabinet is simple thanks to several new products. These set-top boxes such as Apple TV allow you to configure your PC to the set-top box and stream content and services from your computer to your TV.

The opposite is possible with devices like the Sling Media Slingbox PRO-HD. They capture the content from your cable or satellite box and stream it over the internet to your PC or smartphone. The system is supported by infrared relay technology, built-in to most of ImportAdvantage’s TV lift cabinets. The IR system allows you to remotely control your cable box even when you are not nearby. You can watch what you want, when you want.

We are going to try Trivia Day again.  I accidentally left an important part of the instructions out last week.  Whoops!  The trivia contest will be extended for one more week.

We know that it can be nerve-wracking to shop online with a “faceless” company.  However, we do indeed have a face.  In fact, we have lots of faces.   In an effort to get to know us better, we are introducing Friday Trivia Day.  Every Friday, we will ask you a question about one of our staff.  If you get the question correct, you will receive 10% OFF your next TV Lift cabinet purchase!  If you get the answer wrong, don’t worry.  Simply play again next week.
