  1. TV Lift Cabinet Design for Modern Homes

    Affinity TV Lift Cabinet

With the rise of IKEA and other bigbox furniture stores, a modern design aesthetic has become very prevalent in interior design circles. Minimalism, lots of solid colors, and/or a simplicity of trim styles seem to dominate hotel rooms and trendy decoration. A lot of emphasis in the TV lift furniture field is put on blending cabinet designs with existing décor or old fashioned aesthetic. Sometimes customers think that these are the only options available. Sure, many selling points for TV lift cabinets come from how flawlessly they can be made to blend into an existing design, but this doesn't necessarily mean that the designs must be old fashioned and boring! Many people have a modern design aesthetic that they would like to maintain for all of their furniture, not just their tables and chairs.

Fortunately, we are well aware of the difference in taste and aesthetic amongst our customer base. TVLiftcabinet.com offers designs as diverse as a brown Swedish leather upholstered cabinet or

  2. Hide Your TV and Warm Your Space with a TV Lift Fireplace

Sometimes upgrading your living room or den means going all out. For these moments, and especially around the holidays, we recommend a TV lift cabinet with a built-in fireplace. Both the Huntington Electric Fireplace and Remington Brown (Electric Fireplace) models feature an electric heater built in to the body of the cabinet. In addition to producing heat (and concealing your TV, of course), both of these cabinets have a firebox with a realistic fire that can be activated with the touch of a button.

A lot of customers worry about whether or not the electric firebox is going to overheat their TV or other A/V components. This is, of course, a chief concern in the design of these cabinets. Our designers have come up with a solution that separates the firebox from the rest of the cabinet with a partition wall designed to absorb heat and allow the TV to remain cool and well ventilated, even when enclosed in the cabinet. In addition, each cabinet comes with many features to store and utilize

  3. Hiding Your TV in Your Dresser Adds Space

We've talked about it before on this blog, but it is becoming increasingly popular to completely move away from a dresser altogether and use hanging storage in your closet for your clothing needs. When it all comes down to it, you can make significantly more space in your room by going through those clothes that you don't ever wear and paring down your wardrobe to the necessities.

The free space in your bedroom can go to much better use! This creative individual built his own TV lift cabinet with help from some contractors: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZPqfXV4lJsFor some people, wanting to own a TV without having to look at it when it's not in use is a requirement.

For those that don't have the technical know-how, aesthetic sensibility or creativity necessary to pull off a project like this by themselves, there is always TVLiftcabinet.com. 4. TV Lift Cabinets in Hotels add Luxury and Convenience

TV Lifts for Luxury HotelsOne of the biggest markets for TV lift cabinets and other functional TV furniture is the hospitality industry. A great way to maximize the space in hotel rooms and add to the novelty of the guest's experience. In many cases, having a TV lift cabinet in a hotel room adds a level of luxury to the trip that the guest may not be familiar with at home.

For hotels that want to cut costs and don't have the budget or inclination to put a TV lift cabinet in every room, we recommend equipping suites and luxury rooms with TV lift furniture. In addition, it's always a nice touch to add an adjustable TV lift in all handicapped rooms. Motorized lifts do wonders for adding class to a room and can certainly enhance the novelty factor of a guest's vacation.

In addition, oftentimes hotels have a set collection of furniture or a stylistic theme that is maintained throughout the premises. Many hotels focus on modern luxury while others sell a retro-styled experience. Both can take advantage of having a motorized

  5. How to Measure for a TV Lift Cabinet

Bigger is not always better when it comes to home electronics. In many cases, the biggest TV that will fit in a space will absolutely dominate the room and impede decoration and even the ability to move around in the remainder of the space. With that in mind, it is possible to fit a 65” to 75” wide TV in a TV lift cabinet with no difficulty. Be aware that many TV measurements advertise the diagonal measurement of the screen rather than the full dimensions of the unit. These full dimensions are what are most important when measuring for a TV lift or full TV lift cabinet. In many cases, consolidating electronics into a self-contained, versatile cabinet can increase the amount of available space in a room.

When measuring your television, first, place the top of the tape in upper left corner of the case (not just the screen), and extend to the lower left corner. Make sure to include the speakers or any other pieces attached to the case. Record this measurement as the height.
    Second, take the

  6. Making Your Small Room Feel Bigger

    Harbor Rich Tobacco TV Lift

The growth of the market for flat-panel TVs in the last several years is a testament to the fact that many people want to enjoy the benefits of having a large TV, but would prefer not to use the limited space available. In many cases, people will spend the extra cost to get a more compact TV just to maximize the space in their den or living room. Having a large TV, flat panel or otherwise, is a space commitment that is well worth it when watching the Big Game, but the rest of the time, the living room can be cramped.

TV cabinets used to be designed around this problem, especially the fact that most viewers don't want to have to look at an unsightly box whenever they are not actively watching television. Old TV cabinets were designed to hide the TV as well as to fit in with the décor of the room, and modern cabinets should do the same. Now that full-depth TVs are the exception rather than the rule, TV lift cabinets make much more sense than traditional TV cabinets.

  7. Add Storage and Style to Your Entertainment Center

TV Lift Cabinet with the Most Storage
Many people look at an entertainment center as a purely utilitarian investment: it keeps your TV off the floor and where you can see it. Obviously, to earn the title of entertainment center, this must be true, but a really great entertainment center will fulfill so many more needs. For example, it should have plenty of space to store DVDs, other electronic components, or anything else that needs to stay nearby in the living room or bedroom. In addition, it's not unreasonable to want your entertainment center to match your bookcases, tables, or other nearby furniture. It should add to the overall aesthetic of the room, rather than being an eyesore that simply holds up your TV.

The living room or den is oftentimes the center of a family's life and is where many people spend a good deal of time. It is unwise to skimp on this part of your home. At TV Lift Cabinets, we have motorized entertainment centers that not only display your TV and provide storage for your items, they also add to the

  8. Using Your Dresser as a TV Lift Cabinet

    Prism TV Lift Cabinet
We talk about maximizing space a lot on this blog. Often, it's possible to come up with a more elegant solution to a problem rather than simply continuing along the status quo. In many cases, people have many more clothes than they wear with any frequency. Many people fill up their closets and dressers with this surplus and then are surprised when they are out of space. Why have a dresser when you have a closet? The amount of space in your bedroom can be expanded by trimming down the amount of clothes you have to just those that fit in your closet.

Trimming down on the need for bedroom furniture makes space for more creative items. For example, you can replace the dresser with a TV lift cabinet or foot of the bed lift. Keeping an unsightly television stored until you need it is a great way to improve the usage of space in the room, not to mention the aesthetics. Many people put their bedroom TVs on top of their dressers, but this is obviously not the best use of space. These cabinets typically

  10. Declutter Your Bedroom with a TV Lift Cabinet

Plasma TV Lift for Your Room

Once relegated to the living room or family room, it is almost unheard of to see someone who doesn’t also have a TV in the bedroom. Watching Netflix before bed or leaving Pandora playing in the background while one sleeps is becoming increasingly common. However, adding the space commitment of a TV to the average bedroom doesn’t mean that the bedrooms have become any larger or more spacious. In many cases, the amount of space needed to keep a TV within viewing distance will mean giving up dresser-top space or constraining other space necessities in the bedroom.

TV Lift Cabinets recommends a foot-of-the-bed lift to increase this space. Several of our foot-of-the-bed lifts and TV lift cabinets are designed with simple, elegant décor in mind and are ideal for maximizing space and reducing clutter. We offer hundreds of designs that feature clean lines and natural accents to blend into the rest of the room and not distract your eye when the TV is not actually in
