Minimalism is considered by some people to be one of the crowning architectural achievements of the 20th century. In a culture that has been taught that more is more, it’s becoming more common for many people to begin to purge the past and embrace a clutter-free lifestyle.
William Morris’ once said, “Have nothing in your house you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” With less clutter to plow through, you can enjoy the unique beauty of each piece of furniture or art in your home.
The trick is to take it room by room. Clear all clutter and don’t add anything back until you’re down to the flooring. Separate things into three piles: Things to donate, things to keep and things to throw away. Keep in mind that many things can be recycled. Your keep pile should be the smallest.

Then, start with larger furniture. What do you absolutely need to be comfortable in your living space? A couch. A chair. A table. A TVLiftCabinet for the
According to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association recently conducted research through the University of Michigan on the state of the industry. There are now 8.9 million households that own recreational vehicles (RVs), up from 7.9 million in 2005.
The reason: More and more people learn how RVing is a cost-effective and fun way to spend time with family and friends. The RV industry is addressing consumer needs by "right-sizing" RVs to offer the mix of amenities and price that consumers want. Some of the recent trends to get the RVs road-ready include:

Spring is the perfect time to remove clutter and excess from your home. De-cluttering is THE buzzword this year when it comes to spring cleaning – though it should be common sense if you want to breathe easier every time you

It’s a great time to rediscover the hidden gems that are contained within your home and redistribute them accordingly. Or better yet – discover ways to reduce clutter and continue to live the way your family wants to live.
One area of the living room that’s a constant source of clutter is the entertainment area. Cords everywhere. Video game clutter. DVDs and CDs stacked precariously in a basket. And everywhere you look there’s dust. One way to take your family room back and clear the clutter is to invest in a TV Lift Cabinet. For many families, the television area is a focal point in the room, so it’s the place the eye typically goes to

Things you should know:
I don’t know about you, but as fall turns to winter every year, I have one goal: to make our nest as cozy as possible. So, in addition to fall cleaning and clearing out the clutter, I want to make sure our family areas are as warm and comforting as they can be.
Knowing that the biggest holidays and family get-togethers will be happening in the next few months, each room needs to be in tip-top form. Every type of seating gets a soft throw blanket – we live in Wisconsin, and getting the outdoor chill just comes with the territory. There’s always a side table nearby for beverages and snacks. We bring in extra lighting for the family areas to keep things bright and cheerful. And there’s always a candle or two glowing in the background.
The Banyan Creek TV Lift Cabinet is perfect for your family room!
One of the things our family likes to do is watch Packer games together, so the television in our family room is a major focal point, especially this time of the year. When I saw the TVLiftCabinets
It’s hard to believe that 2014 is coming to a close.
I had coffee with a good friend yesterday and we started talking about our home projects for next spring. Guess it’s never to soon to dream. Her focus: gardening. My focus: getting my house in order to sell in a couple of years as we prepare to retire someplace that doesn’t EVER get to -30 degrees in the winter.
As I started looking at various interior design websites on the latest design trends, it’s nice to know that my personal style fits right in with the trends for 2015. First up: reinventing classic luxury. What does that mean? Well for me it means using surprising textures, refreshing colors to more modern hues and making sure that the artistic details of furnishings are front and center. I wondered about which TVLiftCabinets would align with some of the new design trends the designers are seeing for 2015.
I checked in with Rob Buehl, CEO of TVLiftCabinet and asked for some ideas to share with readers. He pointed out that for people
It’s that time of the year again when the cold winds start to blow and leaves turn all shades of gold. There’s apple cider on the stove, beef stew in the crock pot. It’s dark when you wake up in the morning and get home from work, and every weekend is filled with football parties, holiday get-togethers and time with people you love.
Whether it’s watching a family movie or a favorite play-off game, many of these gatherings with family and friends happen around the television set. Recently the Stylish Nest home furnishing blog featured a TVLiftCabinet with a built-in electric fireplace – referencing how much warmth it added to the room. In addition to a stylish, Amish hand-crafted cabinet, the fireplace has a gorgeous warm glow combined with a toasty heater. No need to worry about the television – the fireplace is separated from the TV and audiovisual equipment through a partition wall.
So this year, when it’s time to pop the popcorn
Every year I struggle to come up with ideas for holiday gifts for my husband. We’ve done the whole jewelry thing (watch, ring and St. Christopher medal). Golf getaways. Check. Football tickets to favorite teams. Done that too. And yes – last year, at long last, his favorite gift to date – a large, flat screen television for watching all his favorite sporting events (far away from me).
So what to do this year? I’ve Googled, Binged and Yahoo’d top gifts for guys this holiday season and up pops everything from personal exercise electronics (never gonna happen), to chef’s gear (hahaha) and gardening tools (not for my guy). I decided to focus on his man cave. He’s already got his favorite recliner, pointed directly at the television screen. Then – I noticed that the television is actually lower than his recliner and bingo: I bet he’d love a TVLiftCabinet. He can adapt the location of the screen to his perfect level. The beautiful Amish hand-crafted style will look great and the cabinet provides
While it’s always fun to see the latest, greatest home furnishings, sometimes it pays to take a look at products that have longevity. People continually select them over other items because they have classic lines, styles and finishes.
One of the most popular TVLiftCabinets is the Crystal Pointe Swivel unit. It adds style, function and beauty to your home.“At TVLiftCabinet, many customers keep coming back to Banyan Creek, Crystal Pointe, Carousel and Prism,” says CEO Rob Buehl. “One of our most popular styles is the Crystal Point Swivel. Our customers love these classic styles. They’ve been our best sellers for years. We love the feedback we get because it tells us that we’re providing styles our customers love.”
Joanne L, from Woodbridge, CT shared, “My husband and I had been searching at length for a TV cabinet to suit our needs. After purchasing the Crystal Pointe from your website, we received one that far exceeded our expectations. Not only were we thrilled with the cabinet, the customer
