  1. Netflix Stock Rises After Suprisingly Good 4th Quarter

Is Netflix making a comeback?  Netflix, Inc. saw its stock go up in value yesterday after the company was able to secure more U.S. based subscribers than expected in their fourth quarter.

Netflix has suffered in recent months after they announced an aggressive price increase which split its DVD mail-service from its streaming video service.  The price increase outraged many of their existing customers causing 600,000 subscribers to cancel their plans and its stock to plummet.

It looks like the company is slowly climbing its way out of the hole.  It is reported that the company added 610,000 new subscribers in the United States, increasing revenue by 47 percent to $876 million. Netflix’s plan is to offer more content for customers to stream to their TV lift cabinets.

Analysts doubt that Netflix will be able to return completely to their glory days as there is now too much competition in the market with Amazon and Hulu Plus gaining momentum.  Netflix casually dismissed their competition

Hulu, the popular video streaming service, has stepped into the forefront of streaming TV shows and movies to TV lift cabinets, PCs and smartphones. In addition to “Battleground”, Hulu will introduce “A Day in the Life” (a documentary about fame) as well as a travelogue from the director of “Dazed and Confused”, Richard Linklater.

  4. Customer Spotlight: Henry from Pottsville, PA

What better way to hear feedback on our TV Lift Cabinets than straight from our customers' mouths?  Henry from Pottsville, PA was kind enough to share his experience  and lovely photo of the Banyan Creek TV Lift Cabinet in his 100 year old home. Hear what Henry had to say below.

"One word best describes this product…WOW! I have researched many available products since 2008 and nothing compares overall to the Banyan Creek lift cabinet.  When the unit was delivered and unpacked I was blown away with the overall quality and looks of this beautiful piece of furniture.  Indeed, it exceeded my expectations.  Not only is it a handsome piece of furniture, the lift mechanism is quiet and smooth and the infrared systems work extremely well.  Attaching my 55in. LED TV to the lift mechanism was also easy with the help of my son.  We live in a very large 100 yr. old home and this cabinet fit in perfectly with all my other traditional furniture in my newly renovated sitting room.  I have

  5. Update on Apple iTV and Their Vision on Subscription TV Plans

While Apple is busy keeping their planning under wraps, the rest of us are busy trying to discover what they are up to, especially when it comes to their iTV.

What has been leaked through the grapevine is that Samsung Electronics in Korea has started producing chips for the iTVs since November 2011.  Sharp also is rumored to be producing the displays for the new TVs.  The screens will be relatively small for the initial introductory phase at between 32 and 37 inches and will be better suited for the small foot of the bed TV lift cabinets.

Sterne Agee Analyst Shaw Wu wrote, ““We continue to hear what AAPL would love to do is offer users the ability to choose their own customized programming, i.e., whichever channels/shows they want for a monthly subscription fee. This is obviously much more complicated from a licensing standpoint. And in our view, would change the game for television and give AAPL a big leg-up against the competition.”

Wu goes on to write about how the biggest obstacle

  6. Apple Hard at Work Creating Smart TV

Apple has made it no secret that they plan to enter into the television market.  In Steve Jobs’ biography titled “Steve Jobs”, Jobs mentions how he felt he had finally come up with the solution to enhance the standard HDTV.  It makes sense for Apple to use their existing technology for ipads and iphones and apply it towards the television.

The ultimate Smart TV would have features such as wireless streaming capabilities, voice and motion controls and the ability to share content across multiple devices.  Consumers would be able to stream content from their ipads directly onto their Smart TV inside their TV lift cabinet.  According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently in discussions with media executives to discuss their progress on developing a Smart TV.  It will be interesting to see what features Apple creates for their new Smart TV and when this TV will be released to general public.

  7. Microsoft Announces New Xbox 360 Streaming Apps

Add Xbox 360 to the wave of set top boxes and streaming apps for your TV lift cabinet. Microsoft has announced a long list of apps which are now available for download on the Xbox 360 console. Youtube, Verizon FiOS TV and MSNBC.com are a few of the U.S. available apps.  Beginning in early 2012, more apps are set to be rolled out, including Comcast Xfinity and MLB.tv.

The app selection is not the only exciting thing about Microsoft’s announcement. The technology itself sounds pretty impressive. With the help of Microsoft’s Bing search engine, users can simply say what they are searching for and Bing will pull up the results. Bing on Xbox voice search is already available in the US, Canada and UK.  Now whatever movie, TV show or game you are looking for is simply a voice command away – no need for a remote control!

  8. Remington with Holiday Spirit

We love receiving pictures from our customers showcasing their TV Lift Cabinets at home.  Check out this nice Remington TV Lift Cabinet photo we received last week.

The beautiful Remington Fireplace TV Lift Cabinet blends in seamlessly with this customer’s existing mahogany stained bookcases.  At first glance, you might think this is one large wall unit.  When in actuality the bookcases are separate from our TV lift cabinet.  Quite clever!

  9. See Your Room Transformed!

We know it is hard to purchase furniture online.  Will the scale of the TV lift cabinet fit in well with my living room?  Is the stain going to match my existing furniture?

We hear these valid concerns from our customers quite frequently.  To help our customers determine if the TV lift cabinet will work for their home, we provide our customers with free wood stain samples of our cabinets.  We also provide detailed specification sheets on each of our product pages so that our customers can accurately gage whether the cabinet will fit within the space they had in mind.

But, sometimes even that is not enough to help our customers with their decision.  They need to visually see the final result.  That is where we can step in and go the extra mile.  If our customers send in a picture of their room with room and ceiling dimensions, we can scale the desired TV lift cabinet to the room dimensions and send back the new room photo with cabinet.

  10. Dancing with the Stars Season 13 Finale Gets Underway

And then there were three!  After 10 grueling weeks of competition, the finalists are set to take the stage tonight for the Season 13 Performance Finale. Check out the action on your TV lift cabinet, tonight at 8/7C on ABC. The three finalists are reality TV personality Rob Kardashian, former talk show host and actress Ricki Lake and Army veteran and soap opera star J.R. Martinez. The odds are in so let’s break down the competition!

The heavy favorite is J.R. Martinez. He has performed the most consistently and according to online betting site bodog.com, the odds of Martinez winning the competition are at 1-2. However, Martinez recently twisted his ankle which could prove to be a devastating blow to his ability to compete.

Ricki Lake comes in second place based on her odds at 2-1. Like Martinez, she has been a fan favorite since the beginning. It doesn’t hurt that her partner, Derek Hough, has taken home the coveted Mirrorball trophy in three previous seasons.

    Last but certainly not
