Our Traveler TV lift cabinet gets transformed!  We have made modifications to our Traveler TV lift cabinet which include adding a finished backside to match the front of the cabinet.  No longer does this cabinet have to be a wall flower.  This cabinet can now be used at the foot of the bed or free standing.  We have also added caster wheels to the base of the cabinet for easy mobility.  A heavy duty rack and pinion lift machine silently lowers and raises television plus two electronic components.  The lift machine can hold TVs as large as 46” and has surge-protected onboard power for both TV and electronics.

The Traveler is truly a handsome devil. It is beautifully crafted out of solid maple wood with a hand applied rich tobacco finish and decorative brass hardware.

It is a sad day for the DirecTV subscribers.  Today all their Viacom channels have been cancelled.  Viacom channels include VH1, MTV, Nickelodeon, and TV Land.  According to Viacom, DirecTV had until midnight last night to renew their contract.  Viacom claims the proposal DirecTV put forth was lower than the industry standard and not a fair deal.

DirecTV did not budge on their position and as of this morning all Viacom channels were dropped.  For our TV lift cabinet owners who happen to be one of the 20 million DirecTV subscribers, you may wish to contact DirecTV and voice your concern.  Currently, Viacom is urging subscribers to do just that in the hopes that this will force DirecTV back to the negotiation table.

For now though, it is at a stalemate.

According to Kevin Reilly, Fox entertainment president, “New Girl has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults”.  It is currently ranked No. 2 among young adults.  Raising Hope’s quirky sometimes offbeat humor earns it another year’s contract, while Glee is still a top 10 favorite among young adults.

We are now on Pinterest.  Pinterest is a virtual pinboard.  People can “pin” the products that inspire them to their pinboards and share them with family and friends.  People use pinboards to decorate their homes, share recipes, and plan their weddings.

We received another home photo!  Chris from Washington, IL was kind enough to share with us his Harbor Green TV lift cabinet home photo.

This beautiful cabinet features according style doors that open up for the TV to be viewed from within cabinet.  The heavy duty rack and pinion TV lift is preinstalled.  The electronic tray which rides directly below the TV is also preinstalled and has plenty of room for three electronics.

The strongest radiation storm since 2005 is currently underway on the sun. The storm is being carefully monitored by NASA and several other observatories.  A solar flare from the storm reached Earth this morning at 9am with more radiation expected to bombard Earth’s magnetic field over the course of January 24-25.

What can you expect from the storm? If you live in the far north or south, expect to see more vibrant displays of the northern and southern lights. Intense light shows have already been observed over Northern England and Scotland. Radiation from the solar storm is expected to interfere with satellites. Whether or not it will affect TV broadcasts to your TV lift cabinet remains to be seen. However, communications and power grid interruptions are a common result of these storms. This past Sunday was a great day for watching football.  The New England Patriots played the Baltimore Ravens, while the New York Giants faced off against the San Francisco 49ers.  Both games were incredibly close but in the end the Patriots and Giants were the victors.  Now Patriots and Giants will play for the Super Bowl Championship on Sunday, February 5^th.  Are you ready for your Super Bowl party?

It is time to impress your friends this year with your TV Lift Cabinet.  Yes, that’s right. Have you seen LG’s Magic Remote?  It is awesome!   The magic remote has voice recognition.  There is a microphone built into the remote that allows you to send your voice to your Smart TV.  How does it work?

Well, picture sitting in front of your LG Smart TV.  You are watching a show, when you decide to switch over to the internet.  Up comes the Google search bar.  Now instead of pulling up the keyboard setting on your TV, you can talk directly into the microphone and say “TV Lift Cabinets search”.  Your voice command is relayed and then begins to automatically search for TV Lift Cabinets.  Pretty cool, huh?

The voice recognition can also be used for sending tweets and Facebook posts.  This new magic remote that is scheduled to be released with LG’s Smart TV has yet to be priced but is sure to be in demand.

This year at the Annual CES show in Las Vegas, there was definitely buzz generated around Smart TVs.  Television makers were aiming to impress and bring forth cutting edge technology.  Here are some snippets of what TV lift cabinet owners can expect to see come to market within the next year.

• Samsung and LG are increasing their sets’ processing power and memory to give television watchers the ability to streamline content and videoconference via Skype with friends.
• Samsung, Sony, and LG are using organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology.  OLED can glow without separate light source.  In laymen terms, enabling them to produce wafer thin TVs.
• LG will sell these OLED televisions with a motion sensing Magic Remote.  Their new Magic Remote has voice recognition capabilities.
