  1. Flat-screen TV Price Drop Coming Says CNN

In late September, CNN announced that a drastic flat-screen TV price chop is on its way, which means more people will be able to afford a quality LCD flat-screen TV. The drop is due in part to a historically large oversupply of LCD TV panels.

Most of the price cuts will come before this year’s holiday shopping season, so be ready to save some serious cash. Early estimates say that the “new” average price of a 32-inch LCD TV will be between $249 and $299 dollars, with some screaming deals floating around at $199.

If you’re excited about saving money on a new LCD TV, you will also be excited to know that you can save money on a flat-screen TV lift cabinet from ImportAdvantage. With factory-direct pricing, customers save an average of 50% off retail prices. By buying direct from ImportAdvantage, you cut out the “middleman,” which puts more money in your pocket.

So check out ImportAdvantage’s full line of handcrafted TV lift cabinets and protect your new LCD TV this season.

  2. Smart TV Market on Its Way

With the announcement earlier this month that Samsung is eyeing Google’s Android operating system for producing web-connected TVs, a new market for smart TVs will soon reach a peak, says a chief of Samsung’s television division.

Samsung Electronics became the world’s largest technology company in the beginning of 2010, so they certainly have the ability to drive new markets. The company estimates that the smart TV market will peak around 2012, only a couple years away.

With all the new hyper-convenient TVs that will begin to pop up, it will be another opportunity for ImportAdvantage to showcases its convenient and quiet pop-up TV cabinets, which are also “smart” in that they operate with a one-touch remote control.

ImportAdvantage always keeps up with the latest TV technologies, but the company shows its customers time and again that regardless of how advanced electronic technologies become, a quality handcrafted TV lift cabinet is the only way to keep them safe, secure and so easily accessible.

  8. Breaking News: Consumer Product Safety Commission Urges Securing TVs

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced a reminder to all parents that they take extra precautions in their homes to inspect and secure TVs, furniture and appliances. The CPSC estimates that, on average, one child dies every two weeks due to tip-overs.

Between 2000 and 2008, the CPSC received reports that nearly 200 children eight years old and younger died from tip-overs, and 93 percent of those 200 children were five years old and younger.

Astoundingly, 16,000 children five years old and younger were treated between 2000 and 2008 in emergency rooms due to injuries sustained by TV, furniture and appliance tip-overs.

Thankfully, ImportAdvantage’s TV lift cabinets offer the safety and security to prevent accidental tip-overs by keeping TVs and media players tucked away in handcrafted cabinets. The stable, quiet TV lift mechanisms ImportAdvantage uses in its pop-up TV cabinets can hold up to 150-pound flat-screen TVs while also keeping them secured at the base, preventing
